ASI inaugurates its new maintenance base at Paris-Vatry

  • ASI inaugure sa nouvelle base de maintenance à Paris-Vatry

On September 9, 2021, ASI Aviation was delighted to inaugurate its new integration and maintenance center at Paris-Vatry international airport. A festive occasion, and a unique opportunity for Jean-Pierre Kohn, Chairman and CEO of ASI Aviation, to thank our customers for their ever-renewed trust.

We were honored by the presence of representatives from the French government, the region, the département and the towns and villages where we operate. Without their support and trust, it would have been impossible to bring this project to fruition. We would particularly like to thank Pierre N'Gahane, Préfet de la Marne, Christian Bruyen, Président du conseil départemental and Jean-Marc Roze, conseiller départemental de la Marne, for their presence and warm words on this occasion.

“I would like to welcome ASI to the Paris-Vatry hub. This move, which does not call into question the company's long-standing presence at Prunay, enables us to ensure the company's development, and confirms the airport's attractiveness and the positive dynamic begun in 2020 at a time when the air transport sector remains weakened by the pandemic. The arrival of ASI Group is a direct and effective long-term response for the operation of the maintenance hangar which has just been built on the platform”, commented Christian Bruyen - President of the Marne Department and Chairman of the Board of the Etablissement Public de Gestion de l'Aéroport de Vatry (EPGAV).

“ASI's continued growth means that the company's needs are also increasing. The Paris-Vatry international airport has been able to respond to these needs, and the state and regional authorities have perfectly understood the common stakes of ASI and the airport platform, and have enabled us to move from project to reality in record time,” explained Jean-Pierre Kohn, President of ASI.

Of course, the party would not have been complete without the presence of our partners and customers. Among them were the OSAC (Organisme pour la Sécurité de l'Aviation Civile) represented by Véronique Flamand and Arnaud Calonnec, who did us the honor and surprise of handing over the additional certificates enabling us to operate the site, hot off the printer!

Another customer from afar was Jean-Philippe Pelletier, head of Aerosotravia. This company has enabled us to view many prestigious sporting events, the most recent being the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, thanks to the installation of retransmission equipment by ASI. Having left Japan the day before and made a brief stopover in Russia, he managed to be on time for the inauguration, landing his Beechcraft King Air 200 at 6 p.m. sharp, after half a world tour!
The evening was also dedicated to our teams, the driving force behind our company's growth.
With this new integration and maintenance center, ASI Aviation and ASI Innovation are able to accept aircraft up to the Airbus A321. Thanks to the infrastructure of Paris-Vatry international airport, our customers and partners can land 24/7 and benefit from the customs and immigration services that are always on hand. The airport's 3,000 m runway can accommodate the largest aircraft. Located close to the capital (less than 150 km and 45 minutes by train), but also at the heart of the motorway junctions linking Western and Eastern Europe, Paris-Vatry occupies a strategic position on the logistics and transport scene.
Thanks again to all those who joined us for this inaugural evening!

The ASI Group, headquartered in Reims near Paris, is a French group comprising two separate companies:

ASI Innovation, founded in 2010, is a design office specializing in the design, manufacture and certification of mission systems, cabin fittings and avionics installations.
Today, ASI Innovation is one of the few French groups to have obtained, from the highest European aeronautical authorities (EASA), the invaluable “DOA PART 21 J (Design Organisation Approval)” which enables it, with a constant concern for quality and seriousness, to certify to European as well as American authorities, all the tasks involved in the design, development and integration of complex systems on fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft.

In March 2014, ASI Innovation created ASI Aviation, in which it holds a 100% stake, with a view to taking over the assets of Reims Aviation Industries.
ASI Aviation specializes in the development, production and marketing of aircraft, including the famous F406 (nearly 80 aircraft worldwide, including several operated as mission, surveillance and maritime patrol aircraft), cabin outfitting, mission systems integration and installation, spare parts production and aircraft maintenance. ASI Aviation thus has the industrial capacity to integrate mission systems designed by ASI Innovation into aircraft.
